  • Rapid pulse or breathing
  • Confusion or loss of consciousness

Treating Heat Illness

If you or someone you know is experiencing symptoms of heat illness, take immediate action:

  • Get medical attention as soon as possible, especially for children and the elderly.
  • Move the person to a cool, shaded area and remove excess clothing.
  • Give the person cool water or electrolyte-rich drinks to drink.
